Privacy

What this site collects, which is very little, and what happens to it. Written to be read rather than to be defensible.

On this page 7 sections

Everything here is prerendered and served as flat files. No advertising cookie is set, no cross-site tracking runs, and no profile of you is assembled anywhere.

What the server records

Standard web server logs: IP address, the page requested, the time, the browser's user-agent string. These are the ordinary byproduct of serving a web page and are used to keep the site up and to count roughly how many people read which page. They are not combined with anything else and they are not sold.

The email list

If you submit your address to the signup form, it is used for one thing: an occasional note when a platform covered here changes its pricing, its meter or its plan structure.

Nobody buys it, nobody borrows it and nobody else is handed it. Each message carries a one-click way out, and a reply asking to come off the list does the same job. Ask for the address to be erased and it is erased, not parked on a suppression list.

The outbound vendor hop

A link to one of the four platforms passes through a redirect on this site before it reaches the vendor. That redirect records nothing about you; it exists so that content files never contain a vendor URL and so a destination can be changed in one place.

Once you arrive at a vendor's site, that vendor's own privacy policy applies and ours stops. Affiliate programmes commonly set a cookie at that point to attribute a signup. We do not read it, and the affiliate disclosure explains the commercial arrangement behind it.

Analytics

Where analytics are used, they are configured to record page views in aggregate rather than to follow individuals between sessions or across sites. If that configuration ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.

Children

This site is written for people choosing business software and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anybody under 16.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice the honest answer for almost everyone is that we hold nothing but a possible email address and some server log lines. Write to the address on the contact page and we will confirm either way.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions, so if the detail matters to you, keep your own copy.
